RDHx – Rear Door Heat Exchanger

How It Works:

  • RDHx systems mount a heat exchanger on the rear of server racks.
  • As hot air exits the servers, it passes through the rear door, where chilled water absorbs the heat before it re-enters the data hall.

Advantages:

  • Non-invasive: No modification to internal server components.
  • Energy-efficient: Uses existing air-cooled infrastructure.
  • Scalable: Can be retrofitted to existing racks.

Disadvantages:

  • Limited cooling capacity for high-density loads.
  • Depends on effective airflow management.
